Vacancy: Preschool Teacher (Ages 2-5)

Starting Salary: $3000.00
V. I. P. S is opening our preschool department for children 2-5 years old diagnosed with Autism spectrum Disorder (ASD).
We are currently recruiting energetic, experienced preschool teachers to execute the duties & responsibilities listed below. This is a professional position which entails the responsibility, supervision and early education needs of students.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for teaching & supervising the academic and personal development of the kids using a set preschool curriculum. 
- Prepare & deliver lessons to a range of classes and students. 
- Mark work, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining records of students’ progress and development 
- Supervising planned extra-curricular activities and projects. 
- Maintain each child’s progression report (including their holistic development, interests, challenges and educational progress) and keep parents up to date on their child’s development. 
- Be able to plan relatable and age-appropriate lessons to teach children through a variety of educational & learning exercises 
- Plan & organize field trips to encourage students’ innovation and creativity. 
- Manage student behaviour in the classroom, on school premises & in any additional activities, and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour. 
- Able to use a range of different learning resources and equipment, including LCD projectors, podcasts and interactive whiteboards where available. 
- Ensuring the well-being of all students, such as supporting students on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties. 
- Participate in and organize extracurricular activities, such as formal or social activities, fundraising events and sporting events. 
- Participate in staff meetings, school meetings, parents’ meetings and development seminars/workshops. 
- Required to liaise with other professionals, such as Occupational Therapist, Behavior Therapist, educational psychologists and Ministry of Education (MoE) officials. 
- Must be computer literate & able to type documents, send emails & use basic computer software (Microsoft word, Zoom, etc.) 
- Must be a team player & provide support to other staff 
- Working Hours are 8am-4pm (Mon-Fri) 
- Required to work some Saturdays 
- Adhere to all Public Service codes, rules and regulations including those issued by the Ministry of Education. 
- Perform other related tasks as required 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Certification or qualification in Early Childhood Education 
- Experience in early childhood care and education 
- A minimum of three (3) years working with preschoolers 
- Experience as a teacher will be an asset 
- Fluency in English and Spanish will be an asset 
- Energetic, kind, patient and caring personality 
- Must possess a recent Police Certificate of Character (or able to provide one upon request) 
- Experience working with students with ASD will be an asset
